Nurse Aide Training

The Nurse Aide Training program educates students in basic anatomy and physiology, restorative services, residents/patient rights, cognitive impairment, mental health and social service needs. Students will learn how to employ infection control practices and provide personal care skills according to individual patient needs. They will also learn how to recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes.

Our goal is for graduates to meet the licensure requirements established by the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) and to be able to provide basic nursing care to a diverse population with emphasis on the elderly and those who are dependent for personal care.

Admission

The philosophy of the Nurse Aide Training program is to prepare qualified students to be competent professionals in the field of Allied Health.

Our goal is to recruit, retain, and graduate students who will remain in the area as productive working citizens and directly contribute to the betterment and public health of the community. Reasonable accommodations will be granted to students with a qualified disability (see Policies and Procedures for ADA policy).
